VATICAN CITY - At 10:00 a.m. today, in the Consistory Hall of the Vatican Apostolic Palace, during the celebration of midmorning prayers, Pope Francis held an ordinary public consistory for the canonization of Blesseds

  • Guillaume-Nicolas-Louis Leclercq (in religion: Salomon), professed religious of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (De La Salle Brothers), martyr;

  • Manuel González García, bishop of Palencia and founder of the Congregation of the Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth and the Eucharistic Reparation Union;

  • Lodovico Pavoni, priest and founder of the Congregations of the Sons of Mary Immaculate;

  • Alfonso Maria Fusco, priest of the diocese of Nocera Inferiore-Sarno and founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint John the Baptist; and,

  • ÉLISABETH CATEZ (in religion: ÉLISABETH OF THE TRINITY), professed religious of the Order of Discalced Carmelites.

The Holy Father decreed that these Blesseds will be inscribed in the catalog of saints on Sunday, 16 October 2016.

  • José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero, priest of the diocese of Córdoba;

  • Maria Elisabetta Hesselblad, founder of the Order of the Most Holy Savior of Saint Bridget (Bridgettine Sisters); and,

  • ANJËZË GONXHE BOJAXHIU (in religion: TERESA), founder of the Congregations of the Missionaries of Charity (Sisters, Brothers and Fathers).

In the course of the consistory, the Holy Father decreed that these Blesseds will be inscribed in the catalog of saints on the following dates: Sunday, 5 June 2016, Stanisław of Jesus and Mary and Maria Elisabetta Hesselblad; Sunday, 4 September 2016, Teresa of Calcutta; Sunday, 16 October 2016, José Sánchez del Río and José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero.
